"Your lovely bowl proudly sits as a centerpiece on my entry table. I will not allow the maid to dust it because I am afraid she will break it. No food or other objects are placed inside because I want the positive energy and joy to fill my home and therefore my heart." said a customer who recently lost his wife. Touching people through her art is what matters most to Carla and inspires her to work.

Carla Cecere

Most of her artistic creations came to life during the eight years living near the magical city of Venice, a place where every artist places research as a priority. Carla currently lives and works near colorful Portofino.

From the time she was growing up in California, through her career as an international management consultant, she always knew that art and helping others discover their truth was her calling.

While Carla has always made beautiful ceramic pieces, her notoriety comes from three Italian techniques: majolica, ingobbio and under glaze. She has expanded on these techniques, and as a result, claimed a style that sets her apart from other ceramic artists. Just as important to Carla is what people feel from her pieces.

"Each color, shape and form of my work is selected to communicate a message," says Carla. "The designs and colors are selected to provide people with positive energy while at the same time inspire them to reveal their most deepest inner thoughts and emotions."

Carla takes pride that many of her works can be practical as well as decorative objects, and that arranging them in different ways will create new visions and interpretations.

"The arrangement or composition of vases and dishes become a sculpture in itself," says Carla. "For example, a set of three vases can be separated, turned around and put in a different order to suit one's mood or décor. I have designed different charger plates with some dinner sets so that each guest has something to call their own. Guests will feel a part of, yet individual in a group setting." A painting may also be rotated eliciting different thoughts and emotions.
